NaNoWriMo

'Sup world? I am writing a novel this November because of NaNoWriMo If you are 17 or younger, you can do the Young Writer's Program where you set the word count goal, or, if you are 13 or older, you can do the adult version where you aim to write a 50,000 word novel in a month. Try it, and you can get five copies of your book (or so I hear.)

Meese!

I was sitting in our cabin in Wyoming, and suddenly, I saw a black streak run by. I stepped outside, and, 30 feet away stood a moose! It was crazy!

The Tide of Unmaking

I recently read the Tide of Unmaking, Berinfell Three. And may I say, I can NOT believe they just did that. This is almost unheard of. In fact, it may be the first time it ever happened. But Wayne Thomas Batson and Christopher Hopper have released the rights... to us. They are encouraging us to write our own Berinfell Prophecies books and have them published. I can not believe it. I may just implode from excitement.

Avengers

I saw the Avengers today. This is what me bro said: "Best. Movie. Ever!" I have to agree. The movie was great with awesome special effects and a great plot. I don't want to ruin to much, so I'm gonna say this. The Hulk is awesome. He's hilarious. Two of his best parts include: He and Thor have just defeated Loki and are closing in on him. Then, out of nowhere, Hulk just punches Thor. It was awesome! Here's another part: Loki: I am a god! I will not be defeated by a-
Hulk: *grabs Loki**Bangs him around* Puny god. *walks away*
Hulk was awesome.

Max Ride: Part 1

Here it is, part one of my fanfic. Here goes nothing!

Maximum Ride
Part 1
I wheeled around, my wings barely moving. With the smallest twitch I changed directions and landed in front of Max and the Flock. I bowed as they clapped. At least, everyone but Max. She looked sullen. I walked over to my twin and sat down next to her.
“What’s up, Max?” I asked. She glared at me then continued staring at her feet. I looked over at Dylan, the newest member of the Flock. I was about to say something when she interrupted me.
“It’s Fang,” she muttered, clenching her teeth. “He left us, and only gave us a note to explain why.” She stood up suddenly and walked into our house that my friend, Marcus, and I had built. We put an entire house into two large Ponderosa Pines. And we really maximized space. We had 13 bedrooms, some of which for Fang and his Flock, if they ever needed a house. We also had multiple kitchens, somehow, and three or four laboratories. I had a library and a room in an alternate dimension, which could lead to any other room in the house. And each room had the first letter of our name on the door. Mine had a big “T” for Tyler, and I painted it green. No one mixed up my room with theirs.
“Max, why are you so bent out of shape because of Fang? Dylan isn’t a bad guy.” I put my hand on her shoulder.
“Tyler, you wouldn’t understand. I loved him. I saw a big future. We were in Las Vegas together, and we had a date. We were deep in love, but he left us. He left us and broke my heart.” And suddenly, my twin sister was on my shoulder crying her heart out. I saw Angel walk in and I shooed her away. This was between me and Max.
I squared Max’s shoulders. “Calm down, Sis. Let go of Fang. Focus on your Flock. Fang isn’t worth it. Not right now.” Max looked me deep in the eye. And then she turned around and ran outside, spread her wings, and flew off. I walked after her. When the Flock tried to go after her, I stopped them.
“This is Max’s problem,” I sighed. “Let her deal with it.”
^8^
Max walked around the forest clearing, trying to take Tyler’s advice and forget Fang. But she couldn't. She sat down on a rock, sighing. And she didn’t even hear the footsteps nearby. She only turned around when a whitecoat jumped out of the bushes and stabbed something in her arm. Max felt faint, and the last thing she remembered was being carried away by one of the demons who worked for the School.
^8^
I flew over the forest, the Flock behind me, the day after Max had flown off. We looked down, searching for a sign of our thick-headed leader. When we finally gave up, I waved to the rest of the Flock, motioning for them to land in a copse of trees near a town. When we did, I talked to them.
“You guys, this is probably the only other place Max would be. If you see her, find a nearby phone and call me. Spread out.” I shoved a jacket over my wings and walked out towards the city, searching for my twin.

Writing Prompt- Third Person POV

Sorry this is a day late. I was busy the past few days. This weeks writing prompt is third person point of view.  Do it as if someone else is narrating. If you normally do third person, however, do first person! Keep changing your style. It will help you a lot in writing.

Hunger Games

For lack of another idea I'm going to ask some questions. I would ask you to post a short summary of a Hunger Games of your own design. Something like this: Tyler, who comes from District 12, was reaped along with Lily Prodossess in the 63 Hunger Games. The arena is designed like an underground labyrinth. Some pods include: collapses in the cave; collapsing ground; moving walls; etc. The victor is *******. Just like that.
18 days left!!!

The Reaping

On our next day of Hunger Games countdown, I have something special. I am writing a fan-fiction, I wrote one of my characters into a hunger games scenario. I'm posting the first part right now.
*****

Chapter 1
Reaping Day
I held my breath, watching as Effie Trinket reached her hand into the glass bowl. I stared as she ruffled her hand around. She grabbed a paper and pulled it out.
“Lilith Prodossess!” she called cheerfully. I heard a family groan in the background. Lily was their daughter.
“Hello, Lilith,” Effie said as a girl with blue eyes and blonde hair walked up to the platform. I recognized her from when I was walking to the Reaping. She had explained the entire thing to me.
My name is Tyler Dreamvine. I’m from a place called Raplishite. But I woke up this morning, the morning of the Reaping, in the Seam. It was unusual because everyone looked so much alike. But I stood out, my dirty blond hair and bright green eyes marking me as different. I walked to the Reaping, not knowing a thing about what was happening. I stood in line with the other 17-year-old boys and prayed to Yesemiah that I wouldn’t get chosen.
Effie reached her hand into a different bowl, this one with the boys’ names on them.
“Tyler Dreamvine!” she called. I stood up straight and walked toward the strange woman. I wanted to hear a cry in the distance, to know that I had a family here, but I knew there wasn’t going to be one. I didn’t belong here. I belonged in the past.
“Nice to meet you, Tyler. I don’t think you’ve ever been to the Reaping before. I would have remembered such beautiful green eyes,” Effie said. I nodded then stood next to Lily.
“Thank you for coming to the Reaping. Don’t forget to watch the Hunger Games!” Then Effie turned and walked into the Justice Building.
“Congratulations, District 12 Tributes,” she said when we got into the building.
            “Hello, Effie,” I said.
“Hello Tyler. Now tell me about yourself. I have never heard of such a peculiar name, or such bright, piercing eyes.” I was about to launch into my full history, but the scars on my back started to burn. I knew revealing my history here would be a mistake, so I remained quiet.
“Well, Tyler? I’m waiting.” I sighed.
“I don’t remember,” I shrugged. And why not? My past was fading anyway. I could barely remember what my girlfriend looked like, and I couldn’t even remember what my best friend looked like. I couldn’t remember if I had parents, or family. My past was rapidly fading, only to be replaced with a false past that took place here, in District 12.
“Amnesia, huh? This will be a very exciting year!” she said happily. Then she led us to the rooms where family could visit us. I wasn’t expecting anyone, but when a knock sounded on the door, I opened it. A young girl was standing there.
“Hello, Tyler. My name is Katniss Everdeen. I wanted to say, welcome to District 12. I’ve never seem you before, so I brought cookies.” Katniss, who looked about seven or eight, handed me a basket.
“Thank you, Katniss. Would you like to stay here for a minute?” Katniss nodded and sat on the couch.
“Where do you come from?” Katniss asked. “You aren’t from around here.”
“I don’t know,” I said. My past was fading even more rapidly. “I just woke up here this morning.” Katniss nodded her head.
“I know. I saw you sleeping in the street. I wish you knew where you were from. I would get to learn about places outside of Panem.” I nodded. I understood what she meant.
“I think I can show you something special, Katniss. Something to make up for not remembering where I’m from.” I closed my eyes and felt the life in the room. There was mold in the walls, and seeds under the floors. I focused on the seeds and they sprouted, growing long vines that wrapped around the room. I then focused on the fruit of the plant and made it grow, spelling the name Katniss in bright red berries. Katniss stared, shocked. I laughed.
“How did you do that?” she asked.
“Why else would my name be Dreamvine?” I replied. Katniss nodded.
“You must come from a special place.”
            “Yeah,” I sighed. “I guess I do.”

Writing Prompt- Stranded

I'm getting this out of the way right now. My new writing prompt is writing about a few people that are stranded somewhere, be it on an island, on another planet, on the moon. They should be stranded, though. Some examples of what might happen include: the stranded people turning against each other and becoming cannibals,     the people turning towards each other and becoming closer, the people swimming to the land, etc. Try it.

Let the Games (Month) Begin

I dub March Hunger Month! The Hunger Games is coming out in 22 days, so I might as well dub it so. Little insight, Catching Fire comes out next year. :P. I have officially decided I am on Team... Gale! Gale is way to EPIC! GO GALE!

Let the Countdown Begin

Welcome to day one of the Hunger Games countdown. This is the time when we countdown to Reaping Day. The Hunger Games comes to theaters on March 23, so we begin our 23 days of Hunger Games. What team are you on: Team Peeta or Team Gale? I seriously haven't decided yet. I love them both, and a lot of my friends are on team Peeta. Of course, I know how it ends, so it doesn't matter what team I'm on. ;). But seriously. What team? Peeta or Gale?

Hunger Games

Is anyone excited for the Hunger Games? I know I am. Boy, I can't wait. Who is your favorite character? How about your least favorite? What do you think will be better: the book or the movie? What was your favorite part in the book? Have you read all three books? Or just the first one? How about the second one? Let the countdown begin! Until the day the Hunger Games is released, I will be changing from my regular blog stuff and starting a countdown, beginning March 1st. And remember... May the odds be ever in your favor.

God's Gift

Have you ever noticed that things seem to go your way on your birthday? How about after you see a ladybug? Some superstitious people may say the ladybugs actually have the power to make you lucky, and others say it is just the positive thinking that does it. I have nothing against positive thinking, and I'm sure that that is part of it, but in actuality, God gives you that gift. On your birthday, God makes you lucky. Ladybugs are friendly, nice, and harmless, and God rewards those that don't hurt them. Luckiness is one of the many gifts God has bestowed upon humanity.

My View On... Sports

While I'm here, I decided to do a little section about what I think about sports. Things like this will come up once in a while, so be prepared.
Does anyone truly care about sports? People say they do, but are they truly of any value, other than entertainment? Sports are just a filler. People really need to find God. That is the only thing that can truly fill the longing inside of you.

Extra Writing Prompt-Based on an Author

I saw Journey 2: The Mysterious Island today. I have to say, it was a lot better than I expected. And, I might add, I thought it was going to be great. I highly recommend it. And so I'm giving an extra writing prompt. Try writing based on a specific author. Especially one you like. So get to writing!

Weekly Writing Prompt-Fan Fiction

Write a short story about a book you like. Or two or three. Mix some stories together. Make the bird people form Maximum Ride somehow end up in camp Half-Blood by mistake. It doesn't matter what the story is about. Just write. If you have always wanted to be a demigod, write yourself into Percy Jackson and the Olympians. If you have always wanted to fly like a bird, write yourself into Maximum Ride. The definition of a fan fiction is: fiction written by fans of a TV series, movie, etc., using existing characters and situations to develop new plots.
